The Study

Your Room. Your Game. Your Night.

The Study is our flagship private room. It sits behind a heavy door off the main floor, done as a Victorian reading room: dark panelled walls, deep green and brass, shelves of books and boxes to the ceiling, and low lamplight that makes the rest of the world feel a long way off.

At its centre is a custom gaming table built for our shop by Willing and Table in Utah. Hardwood, with a recessed felt playing surface set on a built-in lazy susan, so the board comes to you and every seat is the best seat at the table. Stainless steel cupholders and dice trays are built in at every seat. It seats six comfortably, and up to eight when you need the extra chairs.

The room answers to whoever is running it. A tablet at the head of the table controls the lighting and the sound. Bright and social for a birthday. Low and warm for a long campaign night. Full dark and firelight when the story earns it.

That seat is the game master's station, wired into the room. Dim the lights as the party goes underground. Cue the music when the boss walks in. Set every scene without leaving your chair.

Bring your own game or take something from our library. Ask our staff about the board games, and about the minis, terrain and gear we keep for the tabletop crowd. However you want to play, The Study is yours for the night.
